A lockout is becoming more probable by the day.
Tim Panaccio of CSNPhilly.com reports that NHL Comissioner Gary Bettman will ask the league's Board of Governers to vote on the support of a player lockout, should a new Collective Bargaining Agreement between the NHL players and owners not be reached by September 15.
On top of that, Panaccio reveals that two player agents he spoke to told him that "both sides are preparing – and have been – for a lockout."
Now, more than ever, both the NHL Players' Association and the League owners have to make substantial progress if they want to avoid a delay or cancellation of the 2012-13 season. They have a little over a week to do so, and reach a new agreement.
