There hasn't been a post on 215 Hockey in the past few days, so let's get all caught up, shall we?
February 21: GM Paul Holmgren announced that Matt Read will be out for six weeks with torn rib cage muscles, after Read left the game against Pittsburgh when it was first announced by Holmgren that he had an upper-body injury.
Panthers 5, Flyers 2 - Final
February 22: On the same day the Phantoms returned to Philadelphia for a game at their former home, Tom Sestito was loaned back to them and allowed to play in the game. Unfortunately, he sustained a lower-body injury during play.
February 23: Scott Hartnell returns from a broken foot.
Jets 3, Flyers 5 - Final
February 25: Jakub Voracek is named the NHL's first star of the week after earning 11 points in the Flyers' last four games.
James Van Riemsdyk visited the Wells Fargo Center as a member of the Maple Leafs for the first time since the trade over the summer.
The Flyers, just one win away from reaching .500, were denied by the Leafs in what was the Flyers' sixth opportunity to reach an even record this season.
Maple Leafs 4, Flyers 2 - Final
Okay, all caught up now. The loss to Toronto was another frustrating one. Once again, this team fell short in a game that really needed to be won.
The Flyers will play the Washington Capitals (6-10-1) at home on Wednesday night. The Capitals are 14th in the Eastern Conference at the time of this writing, so you hope that the Flyers (9-11-1 and currently 9th in the Eastern Conference) will be able to bounce back and play a solid game against a team that they should beat, with all due respect.
