Not the biggest surprise of the day, but Harry Zolnierczyk has been suspended for four games.
The NHL's Department of Player Safety handed out the suspension on Sunday, the same day as the Flyers Wives Carnival at the Wells Fargo Center.
Zolnierczyk received the suspension for his hit on Ottawa defenseman Mike Lundin in the first period of Saturday's 2-1 win over the Senators. He left his feet and made contact with Lundin's head on the play.
Zolnierczyk received a five-minute charging major and a game misconduct, while Lundin was assisted off the ice and did not return to the game.
It was the second game in a row where Zolnierczyk delivered a controversial hit.
In the final seconds of a 4-1 win against the Washington Capitals on Wednesday night, Zolnierczyk delivered a hit to forward Mathieu Perreault that looked like a knee-on-knee collision.
Zolnierczyk was given a game misconduct and a five-minute major for that hit as well, but for kneeing rather than charging.
The suspension will cost Zolnierczyk $12,972.96 of his salary.
This is the first suspension of Zolnierczyk's 43-game, and counting, NHL career.
